What is X-ray imaging?
X-ray (radiography) is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses low-dose ionising radiation to picture the structures inside the body. It is a foundational diagnostic tool for identifying abnormalities in bone, soft tissue and organs.
What we offer at Medilab
We provide digital X-ray imaging on calibrated, low-radiation equipment operated by trained radiologic technologists. Every study is reviewed by a licensed radiologist, which is what makes the report clinically dependable.
Common X-ray types
- Chest X-ray — lungs, heart size, infections such as pneumonia, or COVID follow-up
- Abdominal X-ray — obstructions, calcifications or foreign bodies
- Skeletal X-ray — fracture detection, joint assessment, bone degeneration
- Spine X-ray — scoliosis screening, disc narrowing, vertebral alignment
- Sinus and facial bones — for ENT diagnostics
- Soft tissue views — neck swelling, airway obstruction and similar
Technology & safety
- Digital radiography (DR) — faster capture, lower dose, immediate preview
- Low-dose protocols — exposure tuned to the body part and the patient's age
- Radiation shielding — lead aprons and gonadal shields as standard
- Paediatric adjustments — dose-optimised imaging for children
- DICOM storage — every study kept in a secure, interoperable format
Results & reporting
- Turnaround — typically one to three working days
- Radiologist review — every image reviewed by a specialist
- Delivery — reports and annotated images sent digitally through the secure patient portal
- Doctor access — referring physicians can open results in their own portal view
